The Evil DM sells out to "The Man"

A few months ago I put up one of those Amazon ad thingies to see if they work. it was quite labor intensive on my part setting up a "virtual shop" and hoping that someone buys a book. I figured hell I get over 200 clicks a day on average I should be able to make something...I did make something, a whopping .38 cents. So I took that down.

Then I read an article how the big boys of blogging make some hefty paychecks using Adsense. Now I have no illusions of quitting my day job and live off my blog revenue (would be nice though huh?), but I figured what the hell it wasn't gonna cost me anything and Adsense is a much smaller investment of time and effort than Amazon was. so i did it.

The problem is I don't want to click the ads in the sidebar... zwinky? What's a zwinky? Some kind of shopping agent ("spyware")?
Ben Stein's Expelled the movie? I want to that, but I already know enough that I want to see it...

The pictures were nice though.

Hey Jeff,

While I completely get where you're coming from, your blog is getting crowded!

I'd get rid of the 2 blogger panels on your left sidebar to allow for a little breathing space... Other than that.... here's another clicky love...

Don't forget never to click your own ads man or you'll never see the money from Google...

Good luck... you're making mony a lot faster than me... maybe nakid chicks is the way to go...

You are right Phil. It was looking a too busy. Thanks for the kick in the ass. It's been weeks since the crash and I'm still tweaking this blog.

Ad? What Ad? *drool* I can't see the ad for the babes! :)

Hey EDM, we miss you over at Midnight's Lair. Maybe if you asked there I'm sure a few of us could pull ourselves away from the ads...(2 minutes later)... never mind. I'm sure some could pull away and click on your ad. I did once my wife got into the room. :)

Hey, I was all ripped and ready to click up some ad-sense love for you, but the ads are gone!

Maybe google has some weird rule about not advertising the ads. That'd be too meta for them, I guess. Or not.

I just checked John. the Ads are there...maybe they were down when you visited the blog.

I was finally able to take my eyes off the pix and do my clicky duty... back to the pictures now though :-)

The advert I got was interesting, it takes me to a 'Love Compatibility Calculator' at perfectmatch4u.com .

Hmm. :)

Jeff, thank you for adding more options to the comment system to login. I sure hope it doesn't open you up to spam though, in which case it probably makes sense to lock it down.

Found this blog via Geeknews - excellent content you have there ... scrolls up again to drool over photos ... (suddenly remembers original reason for coming here) ... clicks ad ... may the Secrets of the Surface World be in your hands soon :D

I can't see 'em, Evil - I have AdBlock Plus and Firefox, which means I maybe see one or two ads a day, and they are flash-only.

I can't help you out there, though I would - but I'll be happy to re-direct as much traffic to you whenever I can.

That, and I'm going to stare at those pictures for a while and then excuse myself for a bit.
