On the path
My Buddy Mike M. has finally convinced me to try Pathfinder. There is no real reason not to. I had a beef with WOTC about all that 3.0 /3.5 edition bullshit. But that was years ago and Paizo, the creators of Pathfinder had nothing to do with all that. so what the hell, I'll give it a shot. I gave Mike two conditions:
1) I play. I don't DM
2) We do something in an Arabian setting.
Now I just have to come up with the scratch to buy the book. I have the PDF. But Mike came over the other day and showed me the book. Now I NEED to have it.

Legends of Steel – Barbarians of Lemuria Edition in Hardback now at Lulu!
I just received my copy of the Hardback edition of LoS/BoL and I have got to say it is beautiful. I can’t describe the feeling of holding an actual hardback copy of something I wrote. I know a few of you guys are published authors, so please indulge me as I gush.
It’s selling for $35.00 on Lulu, which is a bit steep for most gaming budgets these days, but It is a nice piece of work (there is a sneak peak preview of it at the Lulu site). The team-up with Beyond Belief Games for this product is one of the better moves Evil DM Productions has made.
So if you want a great game and a cool world to play it in then join me and my mom and buy a copy of LoS/BoL in hardback.

They finally got Warlord right!
I just finished the first story arc of the latest re-boot of the Warlord comic. I am happy to report that they finally got it right. Some may remember a failed attempt a couple of years back to “Re-invent” the Warlord saga. It was a wasted attempt. after the first issue, all the die hard Warlord fans of the original Mike Grell series just shook their heads and said no way.
This latest series puts Grell back in the writers seat and he has Travis Morgan doing what he does best, leading an army in a desperate fight. All the old gang is back as well (Shakira, Machiste, Tara, Jennifer, and Mariah). If you were a fan of the old series, this new run will make you a very happy fanboy.

Evil DM Auction – Sword & Sorcery / Sword & Sandal Paperbacks
These auctions are going pretty good. I’m cleaning out the excess slowly but surely and making a little scratch on the side. I’m assuming everyone so far is happy with their items. I haven't heard a complaint yet, so that's good.
This week I have a dozen Sword & Sorcery / Sword & Sandal paperbacks. In order to write Legends of Steel I read a lot of S&S, both good and not so good. In the course of my research I invariably buy doubles by mistake. So in this case my loss could be your gain as I have a couple of real gems stashed away in this lot.
Here is a closer look. That’s right, those ARE Kane books. Hard to find at a decent price even for “reading copies”.
And as always…
****BIG DAMN DISCLAIMER****
I am not a professional grader of books and games. These are “reading copies” I rescued from Goodwill . As I've stated in previous auctions, If you want to complete your private collection proceed, if you want to turn a buck and intend to bitch about every bend and crease on the cover, then move on.
The bidding is closed.
Paypal only (no cash, checks, or electrum pieces)
Payment due within 3 days from the end of the auction.
U.S. bidders only (seriously guys, U.S. Bidders only)
Winner agrees to pay $11.00 for USPS flat-rate Priority mail.
Auction ends at 6:00pm PST on Wednesday November 18th 2009.
Bid in comments section or at Boojiesdad at gmail.com
Good luck.

I got Google wave! I got Google wave!...Now what do I do with it??
Thanks to T.D. a long time "Friend of the Lair" I received one of the precious invites to join the Google Wave testers. I am now the envy of all my techy friends who can't beg, borrow, or steal an invite. Now all I have to do is figure out how Wave will eventually change my life and become as indispensable to me as my net book. In other words how can I best use it for gaming.
I started a wave to see just how it all works. If you are in the ranks of the elite please drop me a line in the comment section and tell me what you are doing with Wave. or better yet wave me- I might even wave back- if I can figure out how.

"Go look it up"
Tonight one of the minions approached me with a geography question. I knew the answer of course, but in that time honored tradition started by my mother, my answer to him was "Go look it up".

Manly Music Monday
Gettysburg
One of my all time favorites. I have the special collectors edition of Gettysburg on VHS which shows several deleted scenes. Because of this edition I'll always have a VHS player.
A Bridge too far
Such a tragic story, with such a beautiful score. You can just feel the optimism as the song begins.
The Great Escape
This has got to be one of the Manliest Movies ever made. If you're a guy and you don't like this movie you need to turn em in on your way out.
The Magnificent Seven
I know it's a remake. Hats off to Kurosawa.
But these guys defined the term Machismo. And this song just makes you want to jump on a horse and start riding.
Kelly's Heroes
Another great ensemble cast. One of my favorites.
This is the song I want played at the Evil DM funeral.
Man, now I gotta go watch me some movies!
